f the meteorologists can be trusted, those of us in the Portland metro area will be seeing a couple inches of snow this week. And if history is any indicator Gresham, Sandy and other areas on the East side may see additional accumulation.

Although we all love a good snow day or two the prospect of several inches can be worrisome not just for having to drive in the snow but also the possible damage it can cause to a home or office.

1. Stay at ground level, if possible. 
2. Don't let snow pile too high, remove as much as you can. 
3. Use a plastic shovel.
